Getting Started
Set up your AI Data Stream account and start chatting with your analytics data in minutes.
Welcome to AI Data Stream! This guide walks you through setup and your first AI-powered analytics conversation.
What You’ll Need
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A Google account with access to Google Analytics 4 or Search Console
- An API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, or DeepSeek
- Admin or read permissions for your analytics platforms
Important: AI Data Stream uses a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model. You provide your own AI API key and pay AI providers directly—no markup, no hidden fees. Learn more about BYOK.
Step 1: Create Your Account
- Go to app.aidata.stream/register
- Enter your email and create a password
- Check your inbox and verify your email address
- Log in to your new account
Your new account includes the Business plan free for 30 days, no card needed. When the month ends you move to the Free plan automatically; nothing is charged unless you pick a plan.
Step 2: Create Your First Property
Properties represent the websites or apps you want to analyze. After logging in, you’ll see a prompt to create your first property.
- Click Create First Property
- Enter a Property name (e.g., “My Website” or “Company Blog”)
- Optionally add a Description and choose a Property Color
- Click Create Property
You can create up to 2 properties on the Free plan, or unlimited on paid plans.
Step 3: Connect Google Analytics 4
Once your property exists, you’ll be prompted to connect a data source.
- Click Add Connection in your dashboard (this opens your property’s Connections page)
- Click Add Connection again
- Select Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
- Click Sign in with Google and approve access on Google’s sign-in page
- Back in AI Data Stream, choose your GA4 Property
- Click Add Connection
AI Data Stream reads your analytics data and asks for permission to create annotations in GA4. That permission is only used when you choose to sync an annotation to GA4; we never change your other analytics data or settings.
Optional: Connect Google Search Console
To get SEO insights alongside your analytics:
- On the Connections page, click Add Connection again
- Select Google Search Console (GSC)
- Sign in with your Google account
- Choose the site to connect (domain or URL-prefix)
- Click Add Connection
Pro and Business plans can also connect Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, LinkedIn Ads, Meta Ads, Cloudflare, Sitemap, WordPress and GitHub; the Business plan adds the HubSpot and Pipedrive CRMs. See Connecting Data Sources for details.
Step 4: Add Your AI API Key
After connecting at least one data source, you’ll see a prompt to add an AI provider.
- Go to Team Settings → AI Providers (or click the setup prompt). Only the team owner can add providers.
- Click Add Provider
- Choose your Provider (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or DeepSeek)
- Enter a Name to identify it (required)
- Paste your API Key
- Choose a Default Model
- Click Add Provider

You’re ready to chat with your data!
